Selection is the second stage once you are approved
Congratulations! You are on the list. The Conservative Party is seeking to get its candidates in place for all its target seats this year so there is no time to lose. You will need to be familiar with the portal, research and network in the seats you want to be considered for, campaign regularly and be ready should your target seats be advertised.
You will need to craft an application CV ready to be lodged via the portal. With over 200 applications expected for the most competitive seats, this needs to grab the attention, sell you as a great future MP for the constituency and show that you have something to offer the Party and the country.
Then you will face an interview panel, with the key people from the constituency grilling you on your policy views, your Conservative values and your local knowledge. If you get into the final stage, you do that all over again in front of the wider membership.
