Account Director – Geopolitical
Account Director - Geopolitical
Location: London/home working
Role overview
College Green Group is seeking to recruit an experienced, motivated, and versatile senior consultant for its growing geopolitical practice. The right candidate will have a wide-ranging skill set, including excellent political knowledge and relationships, a strong understanding of the media landscape, the ability to think strategically and the drive to manage effective campaigns and projects, as part of a tight-knit team.
Primary duties and capabilities
- Managing client relationships, campaigns and projects, whilst adhering to our values, delivering results and working with/reporting to the director of strategic development. Responsible for:
- Managing workloads proactively, with limited direction and supervision
- Managing client expectations
- Providing internal and external progress updates
- Clearly briefing and delegating responsibility to other team members
- Assuming responsibility for end-to-end delivery of campaigns, projects and other consultancy work
- Building and developing high-level relationships with politicians, diplomats, journalists and other key stakeholders
- Working closely with the geopolitical team at all stages of the client journey, from researching prospective clients/sectors to ensuring continued client satisfaction and delivery of results against briefs/contracts
- Leading client meetings, including with senior politicians, diplomats and business leaders, ensuring that they are productive and clearly documented with action points and timeframes
- Writing op-eds, media releases, web copy and other content to an excellent standard
- Completing reports with a high standard of accuracy, content and visual presentation
- Building a personal network of MPs and other key stakeholders, such as prospective clients, journalists, referrers of business, and think tankers – to strengthen the CGG brand, reputation and relational reach
- Capability to work across digital and social media platforms and channels – curating, creating and commissioning content

Business Development Manager
Location: London/home working
Role overview
The business development manager will be the primary lead generator and business closer for College Green Group, working across a wide range of products and services, from selling sponsorship opportunities to fundraising. They will bring existing contacts and strategies to quickly build the business pipeline and extend our network and opportunities. We are looking for someone innovative and with established connections.
This role has a strategic element – you will have responsibility for delivering the commercial growth strategy for College Green Group and for bringing clients to our team to develop the business and build our reputation. The immediate focus will be to deliver short-term revenue targets and create a solid basis for sustainable growth, in addition to delivering accurate and reliable revenue forecasts.
The ideal candidate will
- Be a confident and experienced business development professional with a strong record of building sales pipeline and closing deals
- Have an existing client network that would fit our business and the ability to build personal and company networks
- Be commercially and politically knowledgeable and comfortable working with senior politicians and business leaders
- Digital, social media and technology savvy
- Self-motivated, self-driven, confident, reputationally sound
- Excellent communicator
- Have confidence in selling niche products with substantial value
- Strong analytical skills, financial acumen and proven ability to manage to targets and budgets

Primary duties and capabilities

Senior Account Director / Senior Campaign Director

Role overview
The College Green Group senior account director/senior campaign director (SAD/SCD) is a highly experienced, reliable, motivated, multi-skilled, client facing consultant who leads multiple teams. They hold responsibility for significant revenue-generation and leadership across corporate affairs, corporate communications and public affairs. They are multi-skilled, with wide experience across multiple disciplines.
The SAD/SCD also holds senior responsibility and accountability for business development and is primarily responsible for ensuring that teams perform optimally and deliver results against briefs and plans. They are focused on client growth and satisfaction profitably, on time and on budget. They report to the senior management team (SMT).
Primary duties and capabilities
Managing client relationships, campaigns and projects on an ongoing basis, in line with contractual agreements – adhering to College Green Group principles, delivering results and reporting to a member of the SMT across each client relationship, campaign or project.
Responsible for:
- Leading and managing teams and client relationships proactively, providing both strategic and tactical support and upskilling
- Exceeding client expectations
- Ensuring consistency and high standards throughout internal and external updates
- Taking responsibility for end to end delivery of campaigns, projects and other consultancy work
- Taking responsibility for multiple business development initiatives, identifying and winning new clients across corporate affairs, corporate communications and public affairs
- Leading and delivering successful pitches, tenders and RFPs
- Evidencing the ability to lead and manage three campaigns or projects to the total value of £30,000+ a month successfully over a six month period
- Ensuring continued client satisfaction and delivery of results against briefs/contracts
- Ability to lead client meetings, including with senior politicians and senior business leaders, ensuring that meetings are productive and clearly documented with action points and timeframes
- Completing project reports to a high standard of integrity, accuracy, content and visual presentation
- Cross-selling and up-selling products and/or services to existing clients, where appropriate
- Frequent, high-level networking, with a view to building the College Green Group brand, reputation and relational reach
- Building a strong and extensive personal network, to include British MPs and other key stakeholders, such as prospective clients at C-Suite level, journalists, referrers of business
- Taking responsibility for preparing thorough and timely handover notes when going on holiday, and communicating them clearly to relevant team members

Account Executive / Campaign Executive
College Green Group account executives/campaign executives (AEs/CEs) are reliable, motivated, multi-skilled, client facing team members who (alongside campaign managers/account managers) serve as a point of contact on a day to day basis for our clients, and are responsible to help deliver services and results against briefs and plans. They are focused on delivering tactical work for clients, efficiently and within timeframes and budgets. They ordinarily work across multiple clients and campaigns.
Primary duties and capabilities
Managing client relationships, campaigns and projects on a day to day basis, in line with contractual agreements – adhering to College Green Group principles, delivering results and working with/reporting to a senior team member across each client relationship, campaign or project.
Responsible for:
- Managing workloads proactively (including managing up)
- Helping to manage client expectations
- Providing internal and external progress updates (which may include updating software/CRM systems, contact/meeting reports, rolling notes, formal updates and presentations)
- Clearly briefing and working with other team members
- Demonstrating ability to work unaided where required
- Ability to contribute to client meetings and ensure that they are productive and clearly documented with action points and timeframes
- Completing project reports to a high standard
- A working knowledge of the main social media networks and platforms for business and political campaigns (at present, LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter, Instagram and YouTube)
- Undertaking research tasks to a consistently high standard
- Taking responsibility for preparing thorough and timely handover notes when going on holiday, and communicating them clearly to relevant team members
- Any other duties as reasonably required by colleagues (in consultation with line manager and/or SMT)
